Has this year flown by or what?
I use this time to reflect on my year and realize how grateful that I need to be for the good and bad times.
Each time period can bring times of great growth if you allow it.
Whether there were personal or business challenges, reflect on how you can turn things around and make 2010 even more incredible.
My family and I watched this gratitude dance this week and had a great time remembering to be grateful for all things.
I thought I would share this video with you as well. I urge you to loosen up and do the gratitude dance. Even if you need to do it every morning to get your day started on a positive note. Here is the video of the gratitude dance: Happy Thanksgiving! Eat Wisely!

Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Wraps

This picture is an Asian Chicken wrap that I had over the weekend from Jamba Juice.
I was really surprised to see this added to their menu. I was even more surprised at how much I really liked this wrap.
The asian dipping sauce that comes with it tastes really great as well.
I have a recipe for Sante Fe Grilled Chicken Wraps but I love this picture and the actual wrap so much that I decided to add it to this post.
Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Wraps
1 Pkg Grilled Chicken Breast Strips
1 large tomato, chopped
4 cups of chopped romaine lettuce
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 cup Mexican Style shredded cheese
1/4 cup Salsa
Whole Wheat Tortillas
Toss romaine lettuce, chicken breast strips, tomatoes and corn in large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with cheese. Combine dressing and salsa. Pour over romaine mixture; toss to coat. Spoon onto tortillas and roll.

Happy 1st Birthday Fat Loss By Eating What You Want!

Wow! I can’t believe that a whole year has passed since I started this fitness blog. I know that I should have a contest to celebrate but I just have so many other projects going on right now.
So I just decided to write about what the past year has brought me in terms of my fitness goals.

Yes, the resources featured here on this blog are all catalysts that have helped me to lose my belly fat, trim my thighs, and tone my arms again. My results didn’t come from some magic pill or a fad diet.
My results are from a focused nutrition plan (eating supportive foods every 3-4 hours) with the help of some protein and meal replacements shakes when sound nutrition wasn’t available.
My fitness plan includes resistance and interval training for only 15 minutes a day for 6 days / week. I have seen more results in 3 months than in the 8 years that I’ve been trying to make this happen.

Interesting Belly Blasting Facts…

As many of you know, I started this fitness blog with a specific focus on my belly fat. I have been a lean athlete all of my life and my beautiful kids ruined my perfectly flat belly.
Since then I’ve been providing some of the best information that I’m using that has helped me to lose my belly fat.
I ran across these facts from Jayson Hunter, a registered dietitian for over 10 years and owner of Prograde Nutrition. I am amazed at the wealth of information that I receive in regards to nutrition from him.
Anyway, let’s get to today’s easy lesson. Check this out:

- Increased Protein intake triggers the hormone Glucagon.
- This, in turn, prevents the spiking of your Insulin (which is also a hormone) levels.
- Which simply means you minimize the chance of storing blood sugar as fat.

In other words, eat more protein and you bust your belly flab. Sure, there’s more to it than that, but that is the crux of it. And so long as you understand the basics you can KEEP the belly flab from coming back.
When you only eat carbs your Insulin levels go through the roof. And all that blood sugar (that’s what the carbs turn into after you’ve eaten them) which isn’t needed by your body MUST go somewhere. Yup, it goes to your belly; or your butt; or your hips; or your thighs…
I can actually say that I’ve seen the results of this (I lost 6 inches in my belly fat in 3 months) by eating an omelet every day and adding protein shakes throughout my day. Of course, notice his words “there’s more to it” which are my 15 min / day workouts and a focused nutrition plan.
