As many of you know, I started this fitness blog with a specific focus on my belly fat. I have been a lean athlete all of my life and my beautiful kids ruined my perfectly flat belly.
Since then I’ve been providing some of the best information that I’m using that has helped me to lose my belly fat.
I ran across these facts from Jayson Hunter, a registered dietitian for over 10 years and owner of Prograde Nutrition. I am amazed at the wealth of information that I receive in regards to nutrition from him.
Anyway, let’s get to today’s easy lesson. Check this out:

- Increased Protein intake triggers the hormone Glucagon.
- This, in turn, prevents the spiking of your Insulin (which is also a hormone) levels.
- Which simply means you minimize the chance of storing blood sugar as fat.

In other words, eat more protein and you bust your belly flab. Sure, there’s more to it than that, but that is the crux of it. And so long as you understand the basics you can KEEP the belly flab from coming back.
When you only eat carbs your Insulin levels go through the roof. And all that blood sugar (that’s what the carbs turn into after you’ve eaten them) which isn’t needed by your body MUST go somewhere. Yup, it goes to your belly; or your butt; or your hips; or your thighs…
I can actually say that I’ve seen the results of this (I lost 6 inches in my belly fat in 3 months) by eating an omelet every day and adding protein shakes throughout my day. Of course, notice his words “there’s more to it” which are my 15 min / day workouts and a focused nutrition plan.

How to Lose Belly Fat has been a hot topic and many people are doing searches on the net to find the best way to reach this goal. Of course most people want the quick fix by using lotions and potions. However, the best way to lose belly fat is by working your core, engaging in short burst exercises and and eating nutritional meals every 3-4 hours.
I’ve been amazed at the amount of calories that I need to consume every day to jump start my metabolism and lose weight! For my height, weight, build and activity level, I have to eat between 1800 and 2200 calories a day! Here is a formula for you to figure out your daily calorie intake requirements. calorie_calculator1 Most people believe they have to starve themselves to lose weight but the exact opposite is true.
How to lose belly fat is so prevalent for women as our children leave us wounded with extra belly flab. Here are the culprits that are to blame for my flab.
Jayden, 7 yr old as The Black Elvis and Nelia, 3.5 yr old who can’t wait to be a USC cheerleader (little does she know she has to major in engineering like her mama!) They are cute so I guess I’ll keep them. They are constantly asking me why I’m doing so many exercises. I honestly tell them that they created all my fat!
My goal is to be a fit yummy mummy with this Quick Mom Workout plan. Most women complain that they don’t have enough time to exercise. Well this plan doesn’t allow you to use that excuse. There are 2 options for the busy mom. You can work out for 15 mins/day for 6 days or 30 mins every 3 days. The specific exercises in this plan are geared for all of the common mommy trouble spots from belly fat, muffin tops, flabby arms, thunder thighs and large hips.
You don’t have to be a mom to see results but most moms gravitate to this site due to the effectiveness in a short amount of time. It’s also more motivating to know that you don’t have to spend 1.5 to 2 hours in the gym. I do all of my workouts in the comfort of my own home. I also enjoy the savings of a gym membership.

I’m Losing Inches!

I really need to keep track of how many inches that I’ve lost. I have certain pants that were really, really tight that are fitting great now. I have some pants that are literally sagging off my waistline. There have been many times where I’ve done the wrong excercise for a certain area of my body.
I have the leftover pregnancy belly pooch and I would do a bunch of crunches with no result. I’ve finally been reading and doing my research that I’ve gotta work my core to start losing in that area. I want to share the core workouts that I’ve been doing for the past month that have brought drastic results to my waistline and my belly area. I hope these videos can do the same for you:

These videos are perfect for the on-the-go mom or just the on-the-go person. I usually combine a 10 minute workout with a 20 minute one. However, I have to admit that there are times when I’ve been totally exhausted after a 20 minute workout and I just move on to my next busy agenda item for the day. I’m having fun in my personal home gym and look forward to my weigh in tomorrow.
